My educational experience timeline can be read from left to right (top to bottom), however, this is not the only way to read it. I chose not to specifically place events on a timeline because my reflection of these events did not happen in sequential order, but rather all of the events are connected together. Often when reflecting on our past, many of us like to think of things happening in sequential order with earlier influences impacting the ones after, but reflection and influences are not always linear. Some of the influences on my timeline were not seen as educational influences until I started reflecting about my history for this assignment. The puzzle piece background represents how interconnected these events are and that there is not a pattern or order to these events upon reflection. They all feed off of one another to help answer the question of “why I want to be a teacher.”
